This set of 4 small salt/pepper shakers in silver and crystal is a jewel for your table. The box states: Cardeilhac argent solid 950/1000, while the crystal jars at the bottom state Orfevrerie Christofle.
The box is in reasonably good condition, the shakers are perfect and 4 cm high.
Antoine Cardeilhac was a well-known sterling silversmith in Paris who worked for Napoleon I in the early 18th century. The business continued until 1951 when Christofle agreed with the Cardeilhac family to take over the tools and patterns. This set probably dates from that takeover period.
