Very rare Hindeloopen oil lamp!
Antique oil lamp with Hindeloopen painting!
This oil lamp was painted in the 60s by a Hindeloopen craftsman.
It was also converted to electricity during this period.
Supplied complete with beautiful candle lamp.

The Hindelooper Painting dates back to the end of the seventeenth century. Hindeloopen was then an important trading city. Like the Dutch cities, there was a great flowering. At that time, the well-off citizens often decorated their homes with beautifully crafted, oak furniture. Sometimes the oak wood was also painted, for example sailor's coffins. Inspiration was probably gained during the trade trips to Eastern European countries and Scandinavia. In the art of folk from these countries you see similar motifs. Conversely, the Hindelooper painting probably influenced the decorations there.

The glass has a small damage at the bottom, this is not visible when the glass is placed.
